Consumer Loan Processor

Job description

This is an Entry Level Position

Primary loan contact for members in applying for a loan with the credit union. Act as the go-to person between borrower, credit committee, and loan officer. Provide members with timely and periodic status updates on their loan application. Respond to emails and phone calls with members in a timely manner.

Collect required documentation from applicants and follow up on missing items. Order credit reports. Update files status fields in point throughout loan process. Assure all member files are complete and in compliance with regulatory policy. Ensure member privacy, security of files, and appropriate staff access.

Prepare adverse action notice and mail to members. Maintain monthly denial report. Process documents received for each file, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document. Prepare loan documents and assist with loan funding. Cross-sell credit union products. Follow up on pre-approval loans weekly. Mail collateral titles on paid-off loans. Other duties assigned by Management.

Experience and job skills: Good communication skills (in-person, telephone, and written) with experience in selling and customer service. Online loan processing applications and credit bureau experience. Data input and ten-key. Previous loan processor experience required. Bilingual a plus.

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
