About Us
Who We Are
Founded in 1965 by employees of the Dallas County Hospital System, now known as Parkland Health & Hospital System, Metro Medical Credit Union (MMCU) has proudly served the medical community for nearly six decades. With 59 years of dedicated service, MMCU now supports over 6,200 members and manages assets exceeding $80 million.
As a full-service financial institution, we provide a comprehensive range of competitive financial solutions to medical employees and their families throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. We also serve individuals who live, work, attend school, or worship within a 10-mile radius of our branch.
Our history is marked by growth and change, driven by the ongoing support of our board, staff, and members. Together, we remain committed to being a reliable financial partner and a strong presence in the community.
The Credit Union Difference
Like all credit unions, Metro Medical Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. When you join the credit union, you become a shareholder – or an owner – of a very unique financial institution. Earnings above the required reserves are returned to you, in the form of lower interest rates on loans and competitive dividends on savings.
We are owned and operated by our members. We exist solely for the purpose of serving our members' best interests.
Today Metro Medical Credit Union serves over 48 Select Employee Groups.
To join the credit union, complete a membership application and make an opening deposit of at least $25.00 to your share savings account. Once you join, you and your IMMEDIATE FAMILY members who join have a lifetime membership, even if you change jobs or move.
